Bill Susman, a veteran of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, is the founder of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, this annual lectureship has been established in his honor. The lectures will take place at the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center of New York University. Susman is seen at the far left of the cover photograph, in the trenches in Spain, 1937.

Previous lectures have featured poet Philip Levine, novelist E.L. Doctorow, poet-novelist Grace Paley, and Spanish Magistrate Judge Baltasar Garzon, and Spanish novelist Antonio Muñoz Molina.
