Summer Institute

ALBA is pleased to offer once again its latest - and most ambitious - public outreach program, sponsored by the Puffin Foundation, and hosted on the campuses of New York University and The University of South Florida in Tampa. 

Each ALBA Summer Institute for High School Teachers will bring together a group of 18 teachers for a week-long seminar aimed at introducing these educators to the resources available at ALBA, and at developing lesson plans and curricular units based on the materials of the Archives. The teachers will participate in hands-on workshops conducted by leading experts on the history and culture of the Spanish Civil War, and will be encouraged to incorporate ALBA's unique primary sources into their teaching of American History and World History, as well as Spanish and American literatures.

The participating teachers will receive a set of books and films about the Spanish Civil War and foreign involvement in that conflict.
