ALBA’s Teaching Institutes provide professional development opportunities for high school educators in Social Studies, English Language Arts and Spanish as well as other subject areas such as the Visual Arts.

  • March 31-April 1, 2017: America and World Fascism: From the Spanish Civil War to Nuremberg and Beyond. A two-day professional development workshop for high school educators in Northampton, MA. Co-hosted by Collaborative.org.
  • May 6, 7 & 13, 2017: Fascism and Anti-fascism: From the Spanish Civil War to Today. A three-day professional development workshop in New York City, NY. Co-sponsored by New York University and supported with funds provided by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA).
  • September 25-26, 2017: Presentation, Why teach about the Spanish Civil War & the Abraham Lincoln Brigade?. Fall OCCS Conference in Cincinnati, OH.
  • October 10, 2017: America and World Fascism: From the Spanish Civil War to Nuremberg and Beyond. A one-day professional development seminar in Cleveland, OH.
  • October 18, 2017: America and World Fascism: From the Spanish Civil War to Nuremberg and Beyond. A one-day professional development seminar in Milwaukee, WI.
  • November 7, 2017: Annual election-day professional development workshop in New York City, NY. Co-sponsored by New York University.
  • November 8, 2017: Fascism and Anti-fascism: From the Spanish Civil War to Today. A professional development workshop in Bergen County, New Jersey.
