Viggers, Ralph Rushton b. July 23, 1913, Springfield, Massachusetts; Father Ralph Elmer Viggers, mother Laura (Cole) Viggers; Attended a military academy and later enlisted in the Marines, 8th Division; Served as a Private, Marine Recruit Detachment, San Diego (1932), USS Argonne, USS Texas, USS Tennessee, and Marine Depot, San Pedro (1933); Single; Miner and Typographer; CP March 1938, YCL 1937-1938, American Student Union 1936-1938, Union of Miners; Stowed away to get to Spain; Arrived in Spain via Massanet on May 16, 1938; Lincoln-Washington Battalion Co. 2; June 1938; Rank Soldado; Plaza Mayor in September 1938; Served at the Ebro Offensive; Returned to the US on December 15, 1938, aboard the Paris; d. February 26, 1985, Los Angeles, California.
