Sanford, Alfred Byron. b. March 4, 1904, Rochester, New York, High school 2 yrs. and Military school 2 yrs., Single, Mechanic and Hospital orderly, CP May 1938 (Spanish?), received passport# 25489 San Francisco series on March 12, 1937 which listed his address as 5249 James Avenue, Oakland, California and 949 New Hampshire Street, San Francisco, California, Sailed March 24, 1937 aboard the Manhattan, Arrived in Spain on May 12, 1937, Served with the XV BDE, Service Sanitaire;  35th Division and 15th Army Corps Sanidad,  Rank Sargento  Served at Brunete, Quinto, Belchite, Teruel, Retreats.  WIA September 2, 1937 Belchite.
