December 17, 1902, La Spezia, Italy; To US 1927; Italian American; Father Francesco Ghiara, mother Anna (Basso) Ghiara; Maritime worker; Domicile NYC; Anarchist; Served in the Gartibaldi Brigade, Scout Platoon; Served at Caspe, Ebro Offensive; Received recognition for bravery; Released from IB in February 1939 and crossed into France; Confined in Argelès-Sur-Mer and Gurs; Taken prisoner by the Germans on January 21, 1941, he was deported to Mauthausen; Freed in May of 1945.
