March 7, 1937; Received Passport# 392712 on April 17, 1937 which listed his address as 454 West 47th Street, NYC; Sailed April 28, 1937 aboard the Aquitania; Arrived in Spain on May 30, 1937 after surviving the sinking of the City of Barcelona; Served with the XV BDE, Mackenzie-Papineau BN; Later with a medical unit; WIA; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; WWII US Army enlisted March 19, 1942; Married Draga Marin in 1946; d.
