Hausman, Carl (Larson, Carl Hausman; Hans; Heus); b. March 7, 1910, Wales; Welsh; To the US 1918; POW; Father George Otto Conrad Hausman (1888-1958), mother Priscilla Williams (1891-1971); Seaman; Domicile San Francisco, California; Sailed August 11, 1937 aboard the Queen Mary; Arrived in Spain via Massanet on August 24, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, Section Commissar, appointed November 23, 1937 by Ben Sills; Captured between March 10-17, 1938, during the Retreats; Exchanged at the end of October 1938 with first 100 English prisoners; Returned to the US on December 5, 1938 aboard the President Roosevelt; d. July 4, 1951, in Morocco, was murdered in the town of Ceuta; Buried in Ceuta, Morocco.
