November 3, 1912, Tarnobol, Poland; Polish American; Jewish; Father Adolph Leon Meersand (1881-?), mother Sabrina Meersand (1885-?); Single; Taxi driver; CP 1932; Received Passport# 367642 on February 17, 1937 which listed his address as 1450 Minford (Misford) Place, Bronx, New York; Sailed February 20, 1937 aboard the Ile de France; Served with the Regiment de Tren; Repatriated regimental; Returned to the US on September 24, 1937 aboard the De Grasse; WWII US Army Air Force, enlisted June 8, 1942, SSGT, his B-17G was shot down on March 15, 1945, 5 miles due north of Gorlitz, Germany, POW, released in 1945, discharged October 9, 1945; Married Ruth Clancy (1925-?) on April 23, 1943 in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma; Married Mary (Marie) Spivey (1916-?) on February 8, 1946 in NYC, divorced December 28, 1983 in Nevada and remarried(?) on May 11, 1984 in Clark County, Nevada; d. August 26, 1999, Las Vegas, Nevada, buried in Las Vegas National Cemetery, Section J, Site 0714, Boulder City, Nevada.
