Nolte, Eugene 1


Nolte, Eugene Victor. b. March 10, 1909, New Castle, Pennsylvania; High school education; Single; Organizer and Clerk; CP August 1936, section secretary; received passport# 391109 on April 15, 1937 which listed his address as 707 Cumberland Avenue, New Castle, Pennsylvania; Sailed May 20, 1937 aboard the Berengaria; Arrived in Spain on May 30, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, MacKenzie-Papineau BN, Plana Mayor, clerk, paymaster and observer.  Served at Fuentes del Ebro, Teruel, Seguro de los Banos, Retreats and Ebro Offensive.  Rank Sargento. Promoted to Teniente; Returned to the US on December 15, 1938 aboard the Paris; d. February 24, 1986, Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
