January 5, 1912, Connecticut (Syracuse, New York); Father Clifford Arthur Cady (1887-1969), mother Clara Emma Wescott (1886-1976); Attended Syracuse University for 2 years, yearbook photo in 1931; Single; Office Worker; CP April 1936; Received Passport# 368207 on February 19, 1937 which listed his address as 51 West 11th Street, NYC; Return address 40-15 81st Street, Jackson Heights, New York; Sailed March 10, 1937 aboard the Queen Mary; Arrived in Spain on March 20, 1937; Trained with the 2nd BN of Instruction, Tarazona; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln BN, Irish Section; Special MG Co.; Washington BN, Co. 4, Section 2; Last unit Lincoln-Washington BN, Co. 2; Rank Soldado; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; WWII US Navy; In 1943 he was assigned to the USS Chaumont that was in dry dock for conversion to the hospital ship USS Samarita; Rank Seaman First Class; Married Grace Bartlett (1912-2002) in January 1939; d. November 9, 1967, Putnam Valley, New York; Spoke English and French.
