February 5, 1914, Muskogee, Oklahoma; Father Harry Carlos Shepard (1879-1958), mother Ethel Yolanda Burke (1883-1933); 1 year of college; Newspaper Reporter; Received Passport# 495202 on January 27, 1938 which listed his address as 714 (718) Fedome, Muskogee, Oklahoma; Arrived in Spain via Massanet on March 4, 1938; Served with the XV Brigade, Lincoln-Washington Battalion, Co. 1; Rank Soldado; Served in the Retreats and the Ebro Offensive; WIA July 27, 1938, Villlalba; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; WWII US Army, enlisted April 16, 1941; d. January 11, 1992, NYC, buried in Oddfellows Cemetery, Neosho, Missouri.
Siblings: brother infant Shepard (-1915), sisters Hallie Shepard (1897-?), Jean Shepard (1897-1984), Sara Shepard (1903-1981), and Evangeline “Jean Sheard (1907- 1984).
