December 2, 1916, NYC; Jewish; father Morris Finkenberg deceased, mother Gussie; No prior military service; Attended Southern High School for 2 years; Single; Salesman; YCL November 1936; Received Passport# 393163 in April 1937 which listed his address as 143 East 16th Street, and 36 Lewis Street, both NYC; Sailed May 1, 1937 aboard the Britannic; Arrived in Spain May 25, 1937; Trained with the Washington BN, Co. 4, and Mac-Pap BN, Co. 1, sent to the front as a replacement; Served with the XV BDE, L-W BN, Co. 1, later to the 11th Regiment, 2nd Grupo Artillery, 14th Battery (John Brown); Served at Quinto, Belchite, and Extremadura Front; Returned to the US on February 9, 1939 aboard the President Harding; WWII Armed forces; Children Barry, Karen and Mel Finkenberg; d. January 13, 1974, NYC, buried Beth Moses Cemetery, West Babylon, Suffolk County, NY, Section 3, Block 31, Row 9 Grave 19; Spoke Yiddish.Siblings: brother Dave, sisters Frances, and Lillian.
