Johannesburg, South Africa), mother Elizabeth Edith Garber (1889-1928); High School education; Single; Knit Goods Worker, Musician; YCL 1934, unit organizer and branch literature agent; Received Passport# 397512 on April 24, 1937 which listed his address as 4814 North 9th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sailed May 1, 1937 aboard the Britannic (Statendam); Arrived in Spain on June 2, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Mackenzie-Papineau Battalion; Lincoln-Washington BN; WIA March 10, 1938, Belchite, during the Retreats; Rank Soldado later promoted to Cabo; Killed in action March 1938, during the Retreats. 
Siblings: brother Franklin Hamilton Kark (1923-1980), step brother Franklin Kark (1924-?).
