Molton, Howard Raymond. (Moulton, Howard Raymond); b. May 30, 1910, Chicago, Illinois; Father John Molton (1866-?), mother Elizabeth McClure (1868-?); College graduate; Single; Postal clerk; YCL 1935; Received Passport# 381983 on March 31, 1937 which listed his address as 3501 Lake Park Avenue, Chicago, Illinois (6351 Stewart Street, Chicago, Illinois); Sailed April 15, 1937 aboard the Berengaria; Arrived in Spain on May 5, 1937; In Almansa, identified as a suspected Trotskyite, Control Commission allowed him to return to Almansa for lack of evidence; Served with 14th Battery then to the XV BDE, Auto Park; January 1 reported as working in Tarazona, deserted and attempted to get over the border, jailed at Barcelona or Guard Nacional; Later to Lincoln-Washington BN, Co. 3; Rank Soldado; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; Wife Sylvia R. Molton; d. August 15, 1948, killed in a single car accident when his vehicle hit a guardrail, was teaching electricity at IIT in Chicago at the time.
