Savako, John. (Sorako, Suvako), b. July 6, 1895, Lithuania; Polish American; 8th grade education; Ohio National Guard, reported for active duty in US Army for 6 months (May-Dec 1917) during WWI, 35th Div. 135th Field Artillery Battery C; Divorced; Painter and Cabinet Maker; CP 1929; Received Passport# 6334 New York series on February 19, 1937 which listed his address as 3131 Carnegie Avenue, and 1524 Prospect Avenue, both Cleveland, Ohio (Cory, Pennsylvania); Sailed February 20, 1937 aboard the Ile de France; Arrived in Spain on March 17, 1937; Served with the XV Brigade; Later transferred to the 35th Division, Sanidad; Returned to the US on December 15, 1938 aboard the Paris; d. August 15, 1946, Cleveland, Ohio; Was involved in the Bonus Marches in 1932 for WWI veterans.
