Biography

k-Schechter, Rubin. b. circa 1902; Graduated from Syracuse University in 1927, English Major, member Omicron Alpha Tau fraternity; Married; Salesman (Fur Trade); CP 1933, Section Organizer and Education Director; Received Passport# 365553 on February 4, 1937 which listed his address as 34-32 91st Street, Jackson Heights, Long Island, New York; 32 years old; Sailed March 10, 1937 aboard the Washington; Arrived in Spain on April 2, 1937; Served with the XV Brigade, Washington Battalion, Estado Mayor, Clerk, and Battalion Secretary; WIA Brunete July 24, 1937 while bringing ammunition up to the front lines; d. August 24 (28, 30), 1937 in a hospital in Murcia from wounds and was buried in Murcia.
