Farmer’s National Association; Received Passport# 398765 on April 27, 1937 which listed his address as 308 West King Street, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania (New Haven, Connecticut); Sailed May 8, 1937 aboard the American Importer; Arrived in Spain via Llansa on June 1, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, MG Co.; XV Corps, Special MG BN, Co. 2; Rank Sargento; Served at Quinto, Belchite, and Fuentes de Ebro; Ebro Offensive; Returned to the US on December 20, 1938 aboard the Ausonia; d. August 29, 2000, Shelton, Connecticut; Described as “Brave to point of recklessness under fire.”
