July 19, 1902, Iowa; Attended university where he studied veterinary sciences; US Marine Corps, 1919-34 (1925-1929), 1 SGT, Artillery and Armor, Nicaragua 1924 and China 1927; Single; Veterinarian and Mechanic; CP July 1936; Received Passport# 39689, San Francisco series, on July 24, 1937 which listed his address as 1838 Steiner Street, San Francisco, California; Sailed August 7, 1937 aboard the Georgic; Arrived in Spain on August 23, 1937; Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, Co. 3; Instructor Tarazona(?); Last unit Lincoln-Washington, Plaza Mayor, Chief Observer; Rank Cabo; Served at Quinto, Belchite, Fuentes de Ebro, Teruel, and the Ebro Offensive; Returned to the US on December 15, 1938 aboard the Paris.; d. July 15, 1975, San Francisco, California.
