September 29, 1910, Grand Rapids, Michigan; (alt may have been born in Canada, to the US in 1913); Graduated from Union High School in Grand Rapid in 1931; Teacher; CP 1936; Received Passport# 444698 on June 16, 1937 which listed his address as 34 West 47th Street, NYC; Sailed June 23, 1937 aboard the Queen Mary; Arrived in Spain via Massanet on July 6, 1937; Trained with the 2nd Battalion of Instruction; OTS, Served with the XV BDE, Lincoln-Washington BN, Co. 3, Commander; Rank Teniente; Served at Brunete, Quinto, Belchite, Fuentes de Ebro, Teruel, and Segura de los Baños; KIA February 14, 1938, Segura de los Baños.
