Bill Lawrence, Harry Heywood and Ed Bender

Lawrence, William. (Lazar), b. July 7, 1903, Kishinev, Russia (now Romania); Russian American, To US in 1921. 1931 attended Lenin School in USSR.Textile worker and Party functionary;  CP 1922; Sailed March 27, 1937 aboard the Vollendam; Arrived in Spain on April 11, 1937; Served as the Commissar of American Base, Represented the American contingent at Albacete; Returned to the US in November 1937.
