July 7, 1903, Kishinev, Russia (now Romania); Russian American; Textile worker and Party functionary; CP 1922; Sailed March 27, 1937 aboard the Vollendam; Arrived in Spain via Nuria on August 9, 1937; Served as the Commissar of American Base; Represented the American contingent at Albacete; Returned to the US in November 1937; d. December 1, 1971, NYC.
